1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you", "the user") and CrunchyPDF ("we", "us"). They govern your use of the website at www.crunchypdf.com and all tools and content offered on it. We may update these Terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date reflects the current version, and continued use after changes means you accept them.

2. Description of the service

CrunchyPDF provides free, browser-based tools that let you compress, merge, split, and convert PDF and image files. All processing happens locally in your web browser; your files are not uploaded to our servers. The service is provided at no charge for personal and ordinary business use.

3. Acceptable use & your responsibilities

You agree to use CrunchyPDF only for lawful purposes. By using the tools you represent and warrant that:

• You own, or have all necessary rights and permissions to process, the files you submit to the tools.
• You will not use the service to process material that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or that violates the rights of any third party.
• You will not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer for malicious purposes, or otherwise interfere with the site's operation or security.
• You accept full responsibility for the files you process and for the output you generate.

Because all processing is local to your device, you alone control your files at every step.

4. Intellectual property

The CrunchyPDF name, branding, site design, text, and original code are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. The tools are built on open-source libraries that remain the property of their respective authors and are used under their licenses. You retain all rights to the files and content you process — we claim no ownership over them.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that output will meet your requirements. PDF and image processing can vary depending on file structure, browser, and device; always keep a backup of your original files.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CrunchyPDF and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the service — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Because the tools run on your own device and we never receive your files, you are solely responsible for safeguarding and backing up your data.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CrunchyPDF and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

The site displays advertising through Google AdSense and may load resources from third-party providers.
